in other news...

I was riding my bike around the 'boro on Friday. I was on Tennessee Blvd at the moment of this story. Normally, I ride in the streets, since the sidewalks are for pedestrians and wheeled traffic belongs on the road, but at this point, I had just turned onto TN Blvd, and it was busy, and it tends to freak cars out when you try to merge with them. Like, they don't mind if you're already there, but entering? Fergeddaboudit.

So I was on the sidewalk, and up ahead, two people were walking, and I was planning on pulling out into the grass to go around them.

But when we were still way far away from each other, the taller of the two motions for them to move over into the grass, which they do. I thought this was rather polite of them, seeing as how I was invading their sidewalk with my wheeled traffic and all.

When I passed, in order to show my appreciation for their politeness, I did a little wave- you know, the "thank you" wave you do when you're driving. The taller guy gives me a little "you're welcome" wave back. And that's when I noticed that he was Henry Rollins.

Such is the story of my most recent brush with fame.
