I hate this war.

This war breaks my heart.

This war is one more thing about America that breaks my heart.

The only way I can keep going right now is to imagine that the war is already over, and to try to figure out the best possible future after this war.

It makes my heart glad to hear of the hundreds of thousands of protesters out on the streets every day.

That is their point- to let people like me know that I am not alone. That the hundreds or thousands of people that I have networked with over the past few months are not alone. That we were not the only ones who thought this war would be stupid.

The protesters make me swell with pride.

Maybe it's not so bad to be human, afterall.

But this war will not be like Vietnam.

The protesters will not win. The war will end soon, but not because of them. The war will end because modern wars that involve direct US military action just don't last long.

Our military is- oh, what was that goddamed statistic? Something like five times larger than the next five largest militaries combined.

Don't quote that stat. It's wrong. But it's similar to the truth.

This war will be short because we will flatten Iraq, because we will lose about two dozen soldiers, and Iraq will lose several thousand people- some of whom were soldiers. Perhaps three of whom were Saddam Hussein and his sons.

Perhaps. That part doesn't really matter. We'll make sure they're no longer in power.

So what do we do now?

I say, let us work toward demanding that Iraq does not get the short end of the stick when all is said and done.

I say, let us work toward ending this idiotic "War on Terror".

I say, let us work toward getting our governments to do our bidding. The few acting for the masses, not despite the masses.

I say, let us work to change our foreign policy so that we stop breeding terrorists.

You hear that Bushie?! This war is the reason for the terrorist attacks of 2026. And they're going to be awful if we don't straighten this out NOW! And you can't do that by bombing every country that harbors terrorists.

We need to fix this.

I say, protesters, keep protesting. Your actions give me strength.

But during your down time, help me figure out a way to solve this, once and for all.

Now is the time for the people to take control.
