I went out to the dumpster today and this guy across the street was yelling into his cell phone, "Well maybe you misplaced it, just like when you misplaced your fucking keys!"

And I wanted to yell across to him, "Man, you guys need to break it off. When it gets to that point, it's just not worth it anymore."

But instead I went back to my car and carried my carpet up into the attic of our apartment, feeling all lucky that my husband has never once yelled at me about losing my fucking keys, or anything else for that matter.

And you know? I really got something good going here.

.

I bought two books yesterday, and swore off buying any more books until February. And I know it's only one month, but that's a big deal to me. I now have more recently acquired books than I could read in a reasonable amount of time, and I just had to say No More!

I told Michael about it when he got home from work, and he said, "What about Barnes and Nobles tomorrow?" We were going to spend out gift certificates. I groaned that damn-I'm-out-of-luck groan and writhed on the couch. He said, "Well technically the new year won't have started yet, so you can still go." I said, "No I can't. It wasn't a New Year's resolution. It was just a normal one. A vow of sorts." He said, "No. It was a New Year's resolution." I grinned and said, "You spoil me." He said, "Yes I do," and then he tried to bite my nose.
